Hannah Watanabe-Rocco is an artist living in Los Angeles, California. She’s fascinated by any and every way to create: not only does she write and draw, she also sculpts, self-publishes comics, makes toys, creates vintage crafts, sews self-designed fashions, and puppeteers marionettes at the historic Bob Baker Marionette Theater. In 2018 she wrote, directed and storyboarded an animated short at Nickelodeon called "Jan & Bobbie." Her work focuses on the small, sometimes mundane, sometimes ugly, always human moments that defy traditional narrative arcs and three-act structures. She's also influenced by the experience of being biracial and struggling with a lifetime of depression and anxiety, and the goal of her work is to empower and connect with people who might also feel alienated. If she could be any dog, she’d be a grumpy terrier mutt with a scraggly beard and a heart of gold.
